e principal aim of the Department of Electrical Engineering is to teach and provide students with some basic knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, control, communications, computers, electromagnetics and optoelectronics, etc.In addition to emphasizing teaching quality and effect, the teachers in the department also concentrate on research and development of advanced topics, such as multi-targets sensing and detection, radar communications, electro-optical material, wireless communications, electromagnetic compatibility, etc. Therefore, research integrated with practical implementation enhances the students’ comprehension of theory and practice and enables them to apply this knowledge to their respective academic careers.

The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) was founded in March 1990, embracing the idea of providing balance between practice and theory focusing on a multidisciplinary program, through apprenticeship and industry-academy cooperation. We are devoted to cultivating students within a professional field oriented to innovation and quality.

This is a cross-domain field to integrate engineering technology and management skills for developing product design, manufacturing technology, production plan, service innovation and patent. We emphasize the innovative and logical thinking to add values in Industrial Engineering, training the students who have the ability of innovative design, innovative service, and cross-domain management. These supporting courses include: Skills of Invention and Creativity, Service Innovation, Knowledge Management, Project Management, Process of Manufacturing and Service, Computer Aid Design (CAD), Quality Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, and Cloud Computing,…,etc.

Environmental Engineering has an interdisciplinary approach and links up with three other disciplines: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Programs in Environmental Engineering are directed at studying the principles and practices of environmental pollution prevention and control. Our comprehensive program places special emphasis on maintenance of clean air, water and soil quality, as well as on improvement of methods of wastewater treatment, air pollution control, waste management, resource recovery, Eco-technology, pulp and paper manufacture, and sustainable industrial management. The teaching program includes municipal environmental protection cleaner production and pollution prevention, industrial safety and hygiene, and environmental planning and management. It is hoped that the department will prepare its graduates for careers in practical and theoretical aspects of dealing with complex environmental problems in order to achieve “greener industry” and ecologically friendly urbanization.

The goal of the program is to train students for being engineers specialized in both computer hardware and software. Our main feature is to make every endeavor to fill the gap between theory and practice. The curricula are designed to meet with the following research programs: IC design, mobile communication, networked multimedia, and knowledge engineering. In addition to providing high quality teaching, we also put great emphasis on developing various cutting-edge information technologies.

Materials Engineering is one of the experimental sciences. The experimental courses offered in the Department are closely supported by the material theory. Therefore, students need to understand the theory first, then they will be able to verify the learned theory by the experiments. Being cultivated with rigorous and carefully designed curriculum, students are also trained with the spirit of “master and apprentice” in class and laboratory. Graduate students will not only possess the fundamental knowledge in basic and material sciences, material thermodynamic, physical metallurgy, and material manufacturing processes, but also have possession of the skills in material analysis. The Department will promote industry-university cooperation for practices: cultivate material talents by the national construction and industrial development.
