Department of Optometry, Da-Yeh University offers the university-level optometric education in Taiwan. Based on the North American and Australia standard of optometric education, the objective of the Department of Optometry is to provide advanced education and equips students to be professional, competent, ethical and high-quality optometrists that can provide the public with visual care. Meanwhile, the school has invested a lot of funds to set up the professional optometric laboratory, including Refraction & Orthoptics Lab, Spectacle Fabrication and Dispensing Lab, Contact Lens Lab, Optics Lab and Basic Medical Lab. The department of Optometry provides the students with a comprehensive curriculum that covers visual and ophthalmic optics, related technologies as well as sophisticated practice skills required for the profession. For four years the courses encompass both basic scientific, basic medical, professional optometric and job-training curriculum covering basic biology, physics, geometric optics, visual and ophthalmic optics, spectacle prescription and dispensing theory and practice, contact lenses, the measurement and correction of refractive errors, etc. and combined with professional knowledge and clinical practice training to enable students to get a complete professional optometric education.

The bachelor program integrates the majorities of Engineering College, and of Biotechnology College to develop distinguishing features including biomaterials, design of medical equipment and health care. The curriculum emphasizes on collaboration of basic principals and industrial practices, and is targeted at the fields of biomedical engineering, innovative design and materials of medical equipment. Being cultivated with the rigorous and carefully designed curriculum, students are also trained with the spirit of Da-Yeh University: “master and apprentice”, in class and laboratory. Graduate students will not only possess the fundamental knowledge in material sciences on medical equipment, computer aided design/manufacturing, functional testing and measurements, but also have possession of the skills in materials and design for medical equipment and devices.

The goal of the Department of Finance at the Da-Yeh University is to prepare future professionals for success in the financial and business communities. To achieve the goal, we put equal weight on theory and practice in the design of the curriculum and equip students with expertise and skills in finance for future career.
